Windows 7 is Microsoft’s newest Operating System for Desktop and Notebook PCs. Windows 7 will be available on October 22nd, both preinstalled on new PCs but we will also be offering installation to upgrade existing computers. Most computers purchased within the last year or two are likely to be compatible with Windows 7.

Most people have heard of Vista, introduced in February 2007 as the successor to Windows XP, and many have heard that Vista had a lot of problems. When installed on PCs with the proper power and those that were designed for it, our experience was that Vista was in fact very stable, with improved security features and lots of improvements for using Pictures, Music and Videos. More importantly, many of our customers that were initially reluctant to switch to Vista, have told us that they in fact found it easy to learn and truly enjoyed using it much more than XP which they were used to.

Peter Bright, of ArsTechnica (a well respected technical website) wrote this summary of Windows 7, which is posted on Microsoft’s website: “All in all, Windows 7 is shaping up well. It's a far more modest release than Vista was, but it's no worse for that. The new OS introduces a compelling combination of welcome innovations and much-needed polish, and that's exactly what Microsoft needs right now. Vista's foundation was solid, and Windows 7 just makes it better.”

In addition to the brand-new and refined features in Windows 7, it also has been improved internally resulting in much better performance. In fact, many technical websites have conducted detailed tests that confirm that on a given PC, Windows 7 not only runs faster than Vista, but in many cases runs faster the Windows XP!
